Resolving Nerve Irritation
Often misdiagnosed as purely a shoulder or arm problem, cervical radiculopathy occurs when a nerve root in the cervical spine (neck) becomes inflamed or compressed. This manifests as pain, tingling, or weakness traversing down the arm and into the hand. Our protocol is built to identify the exact cervical level responsible and mechanically decompress it.
Primary Symptoms
- Deep, aching, or searing pain traveling from the neck down the shoulder blade and into the arm.
- Numbness or tingling specifically tracing into the fingers.
- Weakness during grip or overhead lifting.
- Worsening of symptoms when turning the head or looking upward.
Our Treatment Plan
Phase 1: Cervical Retraction
Directional preference exercises utilizing precise cervical retraction to open the neural foramina and centralize the distal arm pain back to the neck.
Phase 2: Postural Re-Education
Eliminating forward head posture through mechanical correction, reducing the chronic compressive load on the lower cervical discs.
Phase 3: Deep Neck Flexor Strengthening
Building absolute isometric capacity in the deep stabilizing muscles of the anterior neck to prevent recurrent disc failure.
